How can I get past the ghost dog from Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets Video Game?

I can not get past the ghost dog in Harry Potter the Chamber of Secrets game (in the beginning of the game, after the Whomping Willow) who always attack me and I'm dead before I can pass them ... Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me? I'd really appreciate it! Thank You! I already tried Lumos charm, but still attack me before I can attack them.

Try holding the button down to make the Lumos spell more powerful. If only one tap, the spell will disappear very fast
